Tour de Cure

The Tulsa Repeater Organization has been asked to handle the communication needs for the 6th Tour de Cure bicycle ride in Eastern Oklahoma Saturday, May 15, 2010.  This event will benefit the American Diabetes Association.

Tour de Cure has been CANCELLED

due to the expected Severe Weather!

The event begins and ends on Cherry Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There are four route lengths for riders of all cycling abilities, from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. Cyclists can participate in a 75-mile, 50-mile, 25-mile or 10-mile ride of their choice.  Routes are south and west of Cherry Street (Tulsa).  The Ride will be from 8:00AM to 3:00 PM.

Those helping in this event will need to meet at 15th & Rockford at 0630 Saturday morning for assignment unless you have made pre-assignment arrangements with Tom.  Thanks!

If you can help with this event please contact Tom - KD5OPH at KD5OPH@tulsahamradio.org.  There are 15 assignment positions to cover and the TRO needs these filled A.S.A.P.

We will need Stationary, Shadow, Sag, and Sweep volunteer operators. We will use a directed net control. It is with great honor that we take on this communication responsibility for the American Diabetes Association.

I will need to start filling the positions for this ride as soon as possible, so, if you are available and would like to work this event contact me so I can get you assigned to a position. I can use handhelds and mobile radio operators. ADA will provide gasoline reimbursement for Sags and Sweeps.

Your help is needed, so set Saturday, May 15th aside and come help us support the riders for the Tour de Cure.  More information will be provided as the event gets closer.

Contact Tom Stroud KD5OPH at 695-3735 and say "count me in"
