146.34 - 146.94 Repeater
Map of 94 coverage

By Steve Miller (AA5V) 146.94 site chairman:

The 146.34-94 repeater is a TRO long range repeater.  It's radius of coverage is at least 45 miles with a mobile transmitting 10 watts and using a quarter-wave external antenna.

During severe weather or other emergencies, this repeater's primary function is to support the emergency operations center for the Tulsa Area Emergency Management Agency (TAEMA).

The 146.94 repeater is located about 7 miles west northwest of downtown Tulsa, 3 miles north of downtown Sand Springs, Oklahoma on a 1000 foot tower previously used by two television stations and now used by two FM radio stations.

The transmitter and receiver are both located at the 500 foot level of the tower but are in separate boxes.
This is 500 feet above ground and ground is 960 feet above sea level.

The 146.94 transmit antenna is located at the 500 foot level and the 146.34 receive antenna is located at 750 feet.

The transmitter output power is 50+ watts into a Decibel Products DB224 6db gain antenna configured for omni-directional coverage.
The transmitter is a Spectrum Products 10 watt exciter board driving a 75 watt final amplifier.

Control is provided by a C.A.T. 300 controller and the DR-1000 DVR.

The receiver is a Motorola Micor stripped from its original frame and mounted on an aluminum plate to fit in a 19 inch rack.
One of the 146.28 receivers for the 146.88 repeater system share the receive antenna with 146.34.

There are DCI bandpass filters on both the input to the receivers and the output of the transmitter.

Some pictures at the 750 foot level where the receive antenna resides.  These were taken when there was an antenna mounting problem at that level.  I hope to get some pictures when I install the Hustler G6 with a repaired mounting bracket.  :)
